Strategic Partnerships & Special Projects

Collaborating to drive scalable, impact-driven agri solutions across Africa.

Partnerships are at the heart of everything we do. Solving Africa’s agricultural challenges requires a systems approach — one that brings together government, private sector, investors, development institutions and farmer communities to co-create scalable impact.

Our Strategic Partnerships and Special Projects division initiates, structures and executes multi-stakeholder programmes that transform food systems, unlock finance and deepen agro-industrial value chains.

What we do

Government and state-level engagements

Co-developing inclusive agricultural transformation programmes with state governments; designing subsidy, input delivery and aggregation schemes; supporting climate-smart agriculture and food security mandates; and providing policy advisory with technical implementation support.

For example: Nest’s appointment as operational and technical partner under Niger State’s ₦2 billion export initiative, via Niger Foods Ltd and NEXIM Bank.

Development partner collaborations

Structuring donor-aligned projects for livelihood improvement, food resilience and gender equity; executing last-mile delivery and farmer support programmes; and handling data collection, monitoring and evaluation, and impact validation for scale-up. We partner with IFAD, the World Bank, ECOWAS and regional agencies.

Private sector and corporate collaborations

Joint ventures with agro-processors, retailers and logistics companies; last-mile distribution programmes for agro-inputs and technologies; data-sharing agreements and embedded services models; and contract farming and offtake structuring.

Investor and export-linked initiatives

Value chain diagnostics and structuring of export pipelines; technical support to aggregators, exporters and SMEs; project readiness support for access to BOI, AfDB, AGRA and NIRSAL-backed financing; and trade corridor partnerships for regional integration.

Special projects and innovation pilots

We design and test scalable models for bird repellent deployment across the grain belts, drone-enabled extension services, traceability systems for export crops, fertilizer subsidy schemes linked to field trials, and farmer digitisation with bundled input–output models.

  • Aggregator — organising farmer clusters, cooperatives and community networks
  • Advisor — policy guidance, strategy development and programme design
  • Data partner — capturing impact metrics, dashboards and field intelligence
